Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery

Minimally Invasive Thyroidectomy is a new surgical technique to reduce the typical 4-5 inch incision size across the base of the neck down usually to 1-2 inches. A smaller incision leads to less tissue trauma, and smaller scars. This approach through the use of endoscopes allows the surgeon to perform thyroid surgery through a small incision while maintaining the safety of the procedure. Patients generally go home the same day. There will be less pain after surgery with the Minimally Invasive Thyroidectomy compared to the regular Thyroidectomy surgery and recovery tends to be shorter as well.
