Skin Cancer Excision
Skin Cancer excisions are usually done in the operating room under general anesthesia or sedation. Dr Shin uses a local flap or skin graft if necessary. If the excision creates a defect, reconstructive surgery may be necessary the same day. The specimen will be sent off to the Pathology lab where it will be examined during the surgery to make sure all of the cancerous cells are removed. Reconstruction will be performed to achieve a cosmetically appealing result.
